The End in Sight

“The things we move towards… eventually come to pass”

Marcus Aurelius, The Emperor’s Handbook

Behind the Quote

There come moments in life when we become tired. Tired of crawling, walking, and running toward a future that seems ever so far away. We ask ourselves: Why am I here? What was I working so hard for?

However, we can’t allow such times of doubt and fatigue to stop us. We must endure the temporary pain and weariness, or else all our work will have been for naught. Ironically, the most hopeful aspect of life is also its most tragic: its fleeting nature… that all must come to an end. For this reason, we find that “the things we move towards, eventually come to pass.” Sometimes it’s just over the horizon. You’ve come this far already; why stop now?

Behind the Title

The title of “The End In Sight” comes from the Washington Monument being visible in the distance. The “no U-turn” sign is almost telling you to not give up, for the goal is nigh.

Behind the Roll

Was on my last few shots on a hot July day… looking for anything remotely interesting just so I could get the film developed on time. This scene piqued my interest, but I didn’t know what it meant at the time. Inspiration for the post came from my good friend.
